Malinga made his test debut in 2004 against Australia team in Darwin. He was taking six wickets in his first match. Malinga made his ODIS debut in 2004 in Asia cup where he played against the United Arab Emirates. Malinga took only one wicket in his first ODI Match.
In 2007 world cup he was famous when he took 4 wickets in four consecutive balls and he is the first bowler in the world. In 2011 world cup Malinga took his second hat-trick in the world cup and he creates a record.
